The Apology – Asian Heritage Month
May 10 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm| Regular admission applies
Asian Canadian Film Series 2017
This is the second presentation of the Asian Canadian film series at Metro Cinema, featuring Canadian made films for Asian heritage month. In a time where Hollywood continues to whitewash films and leave diverse voices out of the conversation, it’s more important than ever to show Asian people on the screen. This year’s films are recent releases by female filmmakers, all of which are multi-faceted, and multicultural. Curated by Alexis Kienlen.
The Apology is a powerful documentary about the personal journeys of three “comfort women” who were kidnapped and forced into military sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War 2.
